What is Little House?

With a background in Residential Interior Design and a childhood upbringing in Southern California (where our richly beautiful Catholic Faith was not rooted as the foundation of my daily life), a love for the home was initially merely the understanding of a space that had the potential to house aesthetically beautiful “things”. What I would come to learn along the way throughout a transformative reversion to the Faith (Deo Gratias) and time spent as a Benedictine (Sister) Daughter of Divine Will, is that a house is not a hotel, restaurant, or a museum of status, but rather the Domestic Church.

A dwelling place of God and the chosen classroom of The Holy Family. From the interiors of the home to the interiors of each of our souls, Jesus yearns to dwell therein and uses such examples through the many unique lives of the saints; desiring to rein in each room of our heart. A correlation of the technicality of residential interior design, Catholic liturgical living, and the Benedictine Way of life, through the example of each simple act done in The Little House of Nazareth, and united to God’s Most Holy and Divine Will, is undeniably the blueprint to Heaven on Earth.

Monasticism is not bound only to one Vocation, but can also be brought into everyday family life, united together in one heart, “Moving at the pace of Peace and doing what Love requires”, as each day flows throughout the functionality of the space and united in the rhythm of prayer, together we can build up The Kingdom one little and hidden act at a time.

Here at little House we support individuals and family Catholic Artisans who by the working of their hands are united in continuous prayer, both with and for the family, and sharing with others what it means to live The Little House of Nazareth.
